​Our Mission

Our mission is to distribute reusable, washable masks to unhoused individuals in the Bay Area to ensure all members of our community are supported during the COVID-19 crisis.
​
In addition to providing protection, our masks contribute to the creation of jobs through our partnership with ForDays, a sustainable clothing producer in LA.

Current Need

With California’s extended shelter-in-place and mask requirements enforced, thousands of unhoused individuals in the Bay Area are the most impacted. Access to food, shelter, and particularly proper hygiene are restricted, thus creating vulnerable targets for COVID-19. Without the proper personal protective gear, members of unhoused communities in dense urban areas will become increasingly susceptible to COVID-19. The need for masks is best exemplified by a recent unfortunate incident where an SF shelter had over 70 individuals impacted.

A simple, well-constructed mask can significantly prevent further spread of this disease especially among those forced into close quarters by hurdles of circumstance.
